We are continuing our theme of valuing differences and respect. Read through the story of 'The Ugly Duckling' on the Power point. As you read it, think about how the Ugly Duckling feels in different parts of the story. Can you think about these questions:

  • Do you think the duckling would forget the names the other birds called him?
  • How did he feel at the end of the story?

Draw a picture of the Ugly Duckling in the centre of the page, write words around him to explain how he felt before he became a swan eg, sad, lonely, isolated etc. Think of some powerful adjectives to describe his feelings. If you have time you may wish to draw him as a swan and the write words around him of how he felt then.
