12th November 2021
Is been another week of the children working hard!
In History, we learnt about the invention of the printing press, Morse Code and the telegraph. We had fun writing encrypted messages using the code.
In Maths we are learning how to add 1 and 2 digit numbers to 2 digit numbers using the column method (without crossing tens).
In English we were writing a setting description of Beegu’s planet.
On Thursday this week we joined in the whole school assembly for Remembrance on 11th November and talked about the significance of the poppy. We made our own poppies as well.
We started Forest school this week and each child will be able to participate in these forest workshops before Christmas.
This week we looked at the grapheme ‘el’ which is the common spelling for this sound at the end of words. Please practise the spellings ahead of Friday next week.
It is that time of year again and we are rehearsing to our Nativity Play. Please see the additional note about our Production this year.
I look forward to speaking with you about how your child has settled into class and their progress at our meetings next week.
This week please practise additional Maths on diagnostic questions and on the sheets provided.
Thank you Mrs Saganowska-Kearney plus Y2 teamJ
