Well done to all children for completing the second week of learning in Year 2! You have been amazing!
In Maths, we have focused on place values of numbers up to 100. We have done a lot of practical work and we challenged ourselves with reasoning and problem solving questions.
In Science, we are learning about life cycles of animals including humans.
In PSHE we have talked about feelings and how we, humans, express them, through facial expressions or body language. We talked about the importance of being kind to each other and treating everyone how we would also like to be treated.
This week we learnt the triagraph: ‘dge’ which makes the sound ‘j’ like in words: fudge, lodge, fridge.
Please encourage your child to practise their spellings ahead of our spelling test on Friday.
Continue with reading and please leave a note in the Reading Record commenting on your child’s reading. Please use the comprehension questions when reading with your child.
There are additional Maths Quizzes assigned on Diagnostic Questions.
Topic research: This term our Topic work is ‘Where do we live?’ In our next geography lesson we’ll be looking closely at the countries in the UK. If you have any books, pictures, maps and souvenirs from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or England, perhaps your child could bring them to school on Tuesday 21st Sept?
Thank you Mrs Saganowska-Kearney plus Y2 teamJ
