Messages Week Beginning 4 May

Monday 4th May

Good Afternoon Everyone

Well what a busy start to the week I have had! Mrs Tracey and I were in school this morning and then we delivered the next set of Home School Learning Bags. It was so lovely to see some of your smiling faces and we hope that you enjoy the activities. This week Mrs Hodgson is in school on Wednesday so Mrs Tracey has kindly offered to collect the Home School Learning Bags on Saturday, to give you plenty of time to complete the activities. So please leave the bags on your doorstep on Saturday morning.

When I saw Mrs Tracey today she had not received some of the emails I had sent her this week. If you emailed me last week, did you receive a reply? I always try to reply the same day. I will look into this tomorrow and apologise if you didn't get a reply.

Stay safe everyone.

EMAIL ISSUES - Apologies I now realise that you have not been receiving any replies to your emails. I have looked into my account and found 75 messages in my Outbox folder! I will try and get this sorted tomorrow but please be assured I am still receiving all your emails and will reply as soon as I can.

Tuesday 5th May

Good Morning

I have been in touch with our remote IT support and hope to have sorted my email issues. They are unable to resend the 75 emails that didn't send, and not sure I would be able to rewrite them all. I will go through and see if there are any important messages and will rewrite those. However, at least going forward you should get replies for your emails.

I hope you all have a good day and are enjoying 'The Hungry Caterpillar' maths. Do you remember the great big green caterpillar that Samuel found in our garden in class?

Tomorrow I will put a few plans for activities based around the VE celebrations on Friday. It is such a shame that this special anniversary will not be able to be celebrated as planned but I think it is important that the children have some understanding of the day.

I have now put 5 new books on the Rising Stars website, as I was so busy yesterday I forgot!

Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe.

Wednesday 6th May

Good Morning YR

I am in school this morning and can't believe how much our potato plants have grown! I will put a picture below. ME has sent me a picture of some butterflies that he hatched at home. We usually do this in class and it is really interesting to watch the caterpillars grow and then form into a chyrsalis and then watch the butterflies emerge. I will put a link below to the company that we use at school, if anyone is interested.

I have also put together some resources for VE Day. There is a short informative Powerpoint to introduce the children to VE Day and then some activities that they may like to do. We are going to make some bunting to put outside our house on Friday.

Stay safe.

Thursday 7th May

Happy Thursday Morning

Our last school day of the week as we get ready for VE Day tomorrow. I am going to work on planning our learning for next week. As it is Bank Holiday tomorrow, I will post the planning up on Saturday for next week.

I was wondering what I could write in my message this morning and was checking my emails when I received this video from ET-W. She has been working on this project for weeks. She made the volcano herself using junk modelling materials, then she covered it with paper mache and painted it. She has then turned it into a real volcano and made it erupt. Do you know how she made it erupt?

Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine today.
