Forest School
Forest Sessions
Within our Forest sessions we aim to deliver child centred learning processes which provide the learner with inspiring, hands on experiences in the natural environment. Our sessions are led by Mrs Tracey and assisted by Mrs Hancock and Mrs Hayward. The children in EYFS and KS1 are divided into four forest groups – Badgers, Foxes, Hedgehogs and Squirrels. The mixed age groups attend a forest session each half term.
In our Forest sessions children are taught to
- Be equal, unique and valuable
- Be competent to explore and discover
- Experience appropriate risk and challenge
- Choose and to initiate and drive their own learning and development
- Experience regular success
- Develop positive relationships with themselves and other people
