This week we have continued our topic of Autumn. We have learnt about the features of Autumn and we have made some more Autumn arts and crafts.

Phonics - We have introduced two phonemes this week. The phoneme /n/ making the sound /n/ as in 'net' and the phoneme /m/ making the sound /m/ as in 'map'.

Reading - We have continued to blend phonemes to read words.

Maths - We have been looking at the numbers 1, 2 and 3. We have worked on recognising the numerals, counting given amounts, subitising the numbers and begun to represent the numbers.

Next week things may get a little spooky as change our topic to Spooky Autumn. We will be turning our home corner into a spooky den, we will be exploring with pumpkins, making spooky potions and making spooky arts and crafts.

Phonics - We will introduce two phonemes this week. The phoneme /o/ making the sound /o/ as in 'olive' and the phoneme /d/ making the sound /d/ as in 'dog'.

Reading - We will continue to practise blending phonemes to read words.

Maths - We will continue looking at the numbers 1, 2 and 3. We will work on ordering the numerals, recognising one more or one less than a given number and look at the composition of numbers 1,2 and 3.

Important things to remember this week:

As the weather get more changeable please ensure your child has a coat in school everyday. Please practise with your child putting their coat on independently and how to zip it up.

We have sent home a name card in your child's book bag. Please use this to practise with your child to write their name. Please ensure that they form the letters correctly starting on the green dot.

PE lessons are on Thursdays. Please send your child into school on Thursdays wearing their PE kit.

Please remember to bring your book bag to school every day.

In your book bag should be your water bottle and some spare underwear in case of accidents. 

Make sure that all your uniform is clearly named.
