EYFS News
In the last week of term in EYFS we continued our topic of learning about the celebration of 'Chinese New Year'. We found out more about how families celebrate in their homes, we made Chinese New Year themed arts and crafts, played in our Chinese New Year role play area and ate some more Chinese food.
This week:
We have enjoyed a well deserved half term holiday.
Next week in EYFS we will begin our new topic of learning about the season of Spring. We will revise our learning about the other seasons and then learn about the key features of Springtime. We will also become Spring detectives and look for signs of Spring in our school environment.
Next week:
In maths we will be learning about the measurement of length. We will be exploring length using the correct mathematical vocabulary and go on to compare lengths. We will also be talking about time and learning the days of the week.
In Phonics we will be learning our first diagraphs, when 2 letters make one sound. We will learn the phonemes /ss/ and /ff/.
In reading we will continue to practise recognising and reading Tricky Words.
Important things to remember:
Reading books are changed on Monday so please return to school after reading with your child. Please make sure to write a comment in your child’s contact book so we know that the books have been read and then we will change them..
On Wednesday we will be reading to Year Four so please ensure that your child brings their reading books into school on this day
PE is Ball Skills this term and our lessons will be on Tuesdays.
The children will be having Forest sessions this term on a Thursday afternoon. Please could children wear PE kits on Thursday and ensure that they have a suitable coat and accessories dependent on the weather forecast.
