EYFS News
This week in EYFS we have had a very spooky week with lots of spooky play inside and outside the classroom. We had a ‘Witches Kitchen’ in our role play area and we created lots of spooky themed art and crafts. We have enjoyed lots of messy play with slime, spiders and the odd eyeball! We developed our fine motor skills using tweezers to remove spiders from slime and to make spiders webs with elastic bands. We also enjoyed carving pumpkins which we then lit and enjoyed listening to a spooky skeleton story.
We also enjoyed sharing a story with our Y6 Buddies in the sunshine.
This week:
In maths we have been working on finding one more and one less using numbers to 3. We also explored the composition of numbers 1,2, and 3.
In Phonics we have learnt the phonemes /o/ and /n/.
In reading we have practised ‘saying the sounds and then reading the word’.
Next week:
In maths we will be learning about the 3 .
In Phonics we will be learning the phonemes /p/ and /c/.
In reading we will practise ‘saying the sounds and then reading the word’.
We will also be starting our topic of ‘Autumn’ and exploring our school environment for signs of Autumn.
Important things to remember:
Reading books are changed on Monday so please return to school after reading with your child. Please also try to write a comment in your child’s contact book.
PE will on Thursday.
