Year 3 News:

The highlight of our week in Year 3 was our wonderful French café experience! A huge thank you to Mrs Haywood for all her hard work in making it happen, and well done to all the children for embracing the experience so enthusiastically. Not only did they confidently order delicious French specialities, but they also continued their fantastic learning in Science and History thi week. The children were also amazing performing our dance routine to the whole school in the Interhouse Competition — what talented performers we have!

This week:

Maths: We learned how to divide a two-digit number by a one-digit number using partitioning and how to find remainders.

English: We wrote our non-chronological reports about our imaginary dragons.

PE: We performed our dance routine in the School Interhouse Competition.

French: We practised ordering food and drinks at Stocks Green Le Petit Café.

Science: We learned about different types of soil.

History: We explored the Iron Age, tried weaving, and discussed the differences between the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

Next week after half term:

Maths: We will be learning to measure in metres, centimetres and millimetres.

Reading: We will focus on fluency and comprehension skills during our lessons.

Science: We will begin learning about magnets and forces.

History: We will start our new topic on the Ancient Egyptians.

Important reminder:

PE in Term 4 will take place on Mondays and Fridays. Please ensure that your child/children come to school wearing their PE kit on these days.
