Year 3 News
This week in Year 3 we have had a fantastic week of learning. The highlight of this week was our DT projects. The children learnt about different mechanisms to make pop ups. They created their own Pop up books and they learnt how to use different fonds for titles.
In English, we revised what we learnt last term and we focused on practicing spellings.
This week:
In maths we are learning to add 1s to three digit number (across a 10 and a 100).
In reading we are exploring the text ' The pebble in my pocket' and have been working hard to develop our reading fluency.
In PE this week we learnt about how to be a good team player and we played many team work games.
Next week:
In maths we are learning to subtract 1s and 10s from a digit number (across a 10 and a 100).
In English we are learning how to write a narrative story (opening).
In reading we are exploring the 'Pebble in my pocket' and we will be working hard to develop our reading fluency and we will work on comprehension.
In science we are learning about light, shaddows and we will be investigating how damaging the sun can be to our eyes.
In history we will be learning about Prehistory, Stone Age and Iron Age.
Important things to remember:
Remember, our PE days will be on Thursday and Fridays this term. We will have spelling dictations on Monday 3rd November 2025.
