Year 4 News
This week in Year 4 we have had a great first week back to school.
We have been practising our timestables each day on TT Rockstars, and the class are working so hard to improve their speed!
This week:
In Maths we are learning to subtract two 4-digit numbers with exchange and to check our answers using the inverse.
In English we are learning about writing letters.
In Reading we are exploring the text ‘Stig of the Dump’ and focusing on developing our fluency.
In Science we are learning about States of Matter.
We have also explored why the Cacao bean was so important to the Ancient Mayans.
Next week:
In Maths we will be learning about Area.
In English we will be learning apostrophes for contractions and commas in a list.
In Reading we will be exploring the text ‘Stig of the Dump’ and focusing on summarising key events in a chapter.
In Science we will be learning about how temperature can change the state of matter of an object.
Important things to remember:
Swimming continues this term on Fridays at Tonbridge Pool.
PE kit should be worn on Wednesday and Friday this term.
