Year 5 News

Year 5 have had a great week. They had a lovely creative afternoon on Thursday, completing a charcoal study in Art; learning skills and then putting them into practise taking inspiration from War Horse.
 
This week: 

In maths we are learning how to multiply fractions.

In English we are writing our own advert.

In reading we are learning about how to read with expression.

In science we are learning how to carry out an experiment we have planned.

Next week:

In maths we will be learning how to calculate fractions of amounts.

In English we will be learning how to edit.

In reading we will be learning how to answer written comprehension questions.

In science we will be learning about reversible changes.

Important things to remember: 

Homework to be completed by Monday 2nd February. Please can children find a shoe box (or cardboard box of a similar size) to bring in next week. They will be completing a set design on paper, week of 2nd Feb, to then build it during the week of 9th Feb.
