Happy Half Term Year 2!  The last week of term went very quickly and the children were very excited about setting a trap for a dragon and learning new skills in computing. Using iPad was definately the highlight of the week. We are so pround of everyone for settling so well in Year 2 classroom this term and getting used to our class rules and routines. Well done everyone for a fantastic start to the school year!

English

We wrote instructions how to look after a dragon.

Maths:
We learnt how to add one digit numbers to a two digit numbers crossing and not crossing ten.

Phonics:
We leart that the spelling /y/ can make different sounds like in the words: ready, by, you.

Reading:
We read a few poems written by Julia Donaldson and practised fluency.

PE:
We practised out gymnastioc routine and presented the skills we learnt to the school.

Science

We learnt about food chains.

Computing

We learnt how to log in to the ipads, classclouds and Purple Mash. We used Purple Mash to learn how to type and use make capital letters on the keyboard. We learn about how important is to keep our passwords safe and Internet safety.

RE

We learnt about Jewish celebration Chanuka.

Important things to remember

At this moment, our PE days (Monday and Thursday) will remain the same for next term.
