Well done for another very successful week! :)
This week
In English, we have retold the story of Jack and the Beanstalk through actions and creating expanded noun phrases.
In Reading, we have been reading Flat Stanley and working on our fluency.
In Maths, we have been comparing different amounts of money.
In Phonics, we have been looking at the /oo/ sound and the alternative spellings for this.
In History, we learnt about modern day nursing.
In Music we are "telling a musical story" on tuned and untuned instruments and looking at some historical music genres.
In PE we learnt about teamwork by playing co-operation games and leading our blindfolded partner through a maze.
In Science we learnt about materials and their properties by exploring "will it bend" with a range of objects.
Next week:
In English, we will be writing about Jack and the Beanstalk and making some very detailed sentences.
In Reading, we will continue to read Flat Stanley to improve our fluency skills.
In Maths we will be finding change and problem solving with money.
In Phonics, we will be looking at the /j/ sound and all alterative spellings for this.
In History, we will be continuing to look at modern day nursing and we will be having a nurse come in to talk to the children about her role.
In Music we will compose our own pieces to perform using the notes "G,A,C"
In PE we will continue building 'team skills' and discuss how to be a good team-mate.
In Science we will undertake an observation and record our findings comparing the stretchiness of a range of woven fabrics.
In ICT we will explore creating documents, adding images, editing documents with images and creating images using different software.
Important things to remember:
Our PE days this term are now a Tuesday and Thursday.
