Year 2 News
This week
In English, we have continued to look at poetry and we have written our own poems 'Go and open the door'
In Reading, we have been reading Flat Stanley and working on our fluency.
In Maths, we have finished our unit looking at length and height.
In Phonics, we have been looking at the /f/ sound with the and spelling.
In Geography we have been learning about countries and capital cities of the UK.
In PE we have started racket skills and multi-sports.
In ICT we can locate and open word documents, start and shut down a laptop, use a search bar to type a query, login to Purple Mash and locate the Windows button, for various purposes.
Next week-
IS SCIENCE WEEK! :)
The children will be taking part in some extra investigations around their science topic and taking part in some very exciting workshops.
In English, we will be continuing to look at poetry, and studying some acrostic poems.
In Reading, we will continue to read Flat Stanley and work on our fluency skills.
In Maths, we will be looking at position and direction.
In Phonics, we will be looking at the /f/ sound and the alternative spellings of and.
In Geography, we will be looking and features and characteristics of different countries of the UK.
In PE we will continue mastering catching balls using a tennis racket, throwing and bouncing accurately.
In Music we will be telling a musical story.
In Science will we explore the topic of Humans and other animals.
Important things to remember:
Our PE days are now Mondays and Thursdays.
