About Our School
Stocks Green Primary School provides education for girls and boys aged from 4 - 11 years. Our capacity is 218 children, in classes of 30 in Key Stage 1 and 32 in Key stage 2. Although our school is non-denominational, we actively foster links within the local community, including the local church, farmers market and any other local projects that we can be involved in!
The school opened in 1969. Since then, it has remained at the heart of the community of Hildenborough and has welcomed students from further afield.
Our school includes seven spacious classrooms and a large hall for a single form entry school. As a school that prides itself on being inclusive, we have a care suite fully equipped for supporting those with additional needs, complete with a shower facility and hoist. Two of our Key Stage 2 classrooms have been extended to enable easier accessibility for pupils with specific needs. The Foundation Stage classroom has a covered outside learning area. Each classroom has an outdoor canopy to allow an element of outdoor learning, whatever the weather!
Despite only being one-form entry, the school is lucky enough to have extensive grounds. This includes a large and exciting Forest School area, which all children in Reception and Key Stage 1 get to explore and learn in. Our active PTA have funded a fantastic dipping platform for our wildlife pond that the children can use to enrich their science learning. We also have a wildlife area, an allotment, outdoor stage, designated quiet areas and adventure playground equipment. The school is proud to be an OPAL School and uses its ground to maximise play and lunchtime provision.
Sport and exercise are an important part of our school ethos and our grounds have a range of facilities, including an all year running track, football pitch, rounders pitch, outdoor table tennis tables and netball courts.

What is it like to attend this school?
“Pupils are happy at Stocks Green Primary School. They are safe and comfortable within the kind, caring school community. Staff know pupils well and are delighted by their successes. Relationships throughout the school are warm. They are typified by high expectations and respect, which is central to the school’s rules and values.
Pupils like learning and the school has high expectations for them. They find their work interesting and experiences memorable. They behave well in lessons and are keen to do well. Pupils are motivated by choosing ways of demonstrating their knowledge for example through maths challenges or devising projects to answer ‘The Big Question’ in history.
Pupils are positive about the changes that have been made to their playtimes. They enjoy socialising together across the school, dancing to the music, or using the wide range of equipment that has been provided for them. They get along well together. Pupils are active and well supported by the adults who are on hand should they need help. Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the school. They value the community atmosphere and are excited by the recent initiatives and improvements.
